Andy McGrath Tiling Leeds – Domestic and Commercial Tilers in West Yorkshire

Andy McGrath Tiling is a Leeds-based tiling company with 28 years of continuous trading across West Yorkshire, York and the surrounding area. Operating from West Farm Avenue in Leeds, Andy and his team of City and Guilds qualified tilers bring a combined 50 years of experience to domestic and commercial tiling projects of every scale — from a single bathroom retile in Wakefield to a full commercial fitout for an Aldi supermarket or a Spa store.

That commercial portfolio is worth stating clearly at the outset, because it places Andy McGrath Tiling in a distinct category from the majority of Leeds tiling companies who work exclusively on domestic bathrooms and kitchens. Tiling a national supermarket chain to their brand specification, on a commercial programme, with the site management requirements and material tolerances that large-scale retail projects demand, is a different undertaking from a domestic bathroom installation — and the fact that Andy’s team has delivered it, repeatedly, for named national brands, is the clearest possible demonstration of what 28 years of West Yorkshire tiling experience produces.

All tilers on the Andy McGrath team hold CSCS cards and carry full public and employers’ liability insurance — requirements that commercial principal contractors stipulate as non-negotiable on site, and that separate a properly constituted commercial tiling team from domestic-only operators who cannot satisfy them.

Commercial Tiling in Leeds, York and Across West Yorkshire

Andy McGrath Tiling’s commercial portfolio covers a wide range of business environments across Leeds, Wakefield and the surrounding region. Named commercial sectors include showrooms, changing rooms, hotels, bars and restaurants, saunas and steam rooms, gyms, shop floors and shopping centres — as well as the petrol station, Spa store and Aldi supermarket contracts documented on the website.

Each commercial environment has its own specific requirements. Hotel and restaurant bathroom tiling demands a finish that holds up to high-footfall and regular cleaning while meeting the presentation standards that hospitality guests expect. Gym and leisure facility tiling in wet areas — showers, changing rooms, saunas — requires adhesive and grout specifications rated for continuous moisture exposure. Shop floor and supermarket tiling requires materials specified for heavy trolley and foot traffic, laid to tolerances that commercial premises demand. Andy McGrath Tiling has worked across all of these environments and approaches each with the material knowledge the specific setting requires.

The commercial process runs from initial no-obligation consultation and site survey through to full supply, installation and finishing — including surface preparation, existing tile removal and disposal where required, sub-base levelling and preparation, tile supply and laying, grouting, sealant and final clean. Andy’s team draws up suitable plans before work commences and delivers on programme, understanding that commercial clients have operational timelines that cannot accommodate a tiling contractor who overruns.

Domestic Tiling in Leeds, Wakefield, York and West Yorkshire

For Leeds homeowners, Andy McGrath Tiling covers the complete range of domestic tiling work across all room types, materials and project scales.

Bathroom Tiling Leeds

Bathroom tiling is one of Andy McGrath Tiling’s core domestic services, covering full retiles, partial retiles, shower enclosures, wet room conversions and new-build bathroom installations across Leeds, Wakefield, York and the surrounding West Yorkshire towns. The team carries out all aspects of the work including surface preparation and finishing — stripping existing tiles where required, preparing the substrate correctly, installing tanking in wet areas and delivering a finished, grouted and sealed surface ready for sanitary ware installation.

Wet room tiling is available as a distinct service for homeowners wanting a level-access, fully waterproofed bathroom — with correct tanking across all walls and the floor plane, properly graded drainage and a tile and adhesive specification suited to the continuous water exposure that a wet room produces.

Kitchen Tiling in Leeds and West Yorkshire

Kitchen wall tiling — splashbacks, full wall tiling behind worktops and hobs, and feature walls — is carried out across Leeds and West Yorkshire in the full range of available tile materials. Kitchen tiles need to withstand steam, water, grease and frequent cleaning across years of daily use, which makes adhesive and grout specification for the kitchen environment a genuine technical consideration rather than a default choice. Andy’s team advises on the right materials for the specific installation before work begins.

Kitchen floor tiling is also available in ceramic, porcelain and natural stone, with sub-base levelling carried out where the existing floor is not flat enough to take large-format tiles without lippage.

Floor Tiling Across West Yorkshire

Floor tiling in hallways, living areas, kitchen diners and conservatories is carried out in ceramic, porcelain, natural stone and mosaic. Large-format floor tiles — increasingly the specification of choice across modern Leeds and West Yorkshire homes — require a genuinely flat substrate achieved through self-levelling compound application before tiles go down. Andy McGrath Tiling includes sub-base preparation as part of the floor tiling service rather than as an optional extra, because the preparation is what determines whether the finished floor remains flat and stable over the long term.

Outdoor and Exterior Tiling

Outdoor tiling for domestic patios, terraces and exterior steps is available across the West Yorkshire service area, using frost-resistant tiles and adhesive systems specified for the temperature cycling and moisture exposure that an outdoor surface in Yorkshire experiences across the seasons.

Extensions and New Builds

Andy McGrath Tiling regularly takes on tiling contracts for domestic extensions and new-build projects across Leeds and West Yorkshire, working alongside builders, developers and individual homeowners to deliver wall and floor tiling that meets the programme and specification requirements of new construction.

Tile Sourcing and Supply Across Leeds

Andy McGrath Tiling offers full supply and installation rather than labour-only, sourcing tiles from traditional country and vintage styles through to modern ceramic, porcelain and mosaic options across the full range of colours, finishes and formats. For homeowners who have not yet chosen their tiles, Andy’s team can advise on the most suitable options for the specific room, substrate, use and budget — providing product samples where helpful — and supply everything required including grout, sealant and protective covers for the job.

All work carried out by Andy McGrath Tiling comes with a product guarantee. If any issue arises with a completed installation, the team returns to resolve it.
