Covill Skips: Skip Hire, Grab Hire and Waste Clearance in Cambridge

We’re Covill Skips, a small, local, family-run skip hire and waste clearance company with over 15 years of experience in the waste industry. Based in Cambridge, we cover skip hire, grab hire, clearance, aggregates, bulk bags and metal recycling for domestic and trade customers right across the city and surrounding areas.

About Us

We’re proud to be a genuinely local, family-run business rather than a big impersonal operator. With more than 15 years in the waste industry between us, we know how to get a job done properly, whether that’s a single mini skip for a bathroom refit or a full grab hire service clearing muckaway from a construction site. We keep things straightforward, offer same day and next day service across Cambridge, Ely, Newmarket and beyond, and provide duty of care waste transfer notes for everything we collect, so you’ve got proper paperwork for your records whether you’re a homeowner or a trade customer.

Skip Hire

We supply a range of skip sizes for all types of projects, from mini skips suitable for small household jobs right up to larger skips for commercial waste. Whether you’re clearing out a single room, tackling a garden overhaul, or managing waste from a full renovation, we’ll help you work out exactly what size you need so you’re not paying for space you don’t use. As a family-run team, we’re happy to talk you through the options over the phone rather than leaving you to guess.

Grab Hire and Aggregates

We offer a grab hire and aggregate service to domestic and trade customers, collecting inert muckaway, hardcore and green waste with our grab lorries. Aggregate supplies are essential for a huge range of construction and civil engineering projects across Cambridge, from building roads and bridges to residential homes and commercial structures. We supply natural aggregates including sand, gravel and crushed stone sourced from local quarries, as well as recycled aggregates made from reclaimed concrete and asphalt, giving you a more eco-friendly option that helps reduce landfill waste. For trade customers in particular, having grab hire and aggregate supply from the same local team can save a lot of coordination compared to using separate suppliers for each.

Clearance and Bulk Bags

For smaller jobs, we provide a bulk bag delivery and collection service throughout Cambridge and the surrounding areas, making rubbish clearance simple, cost-effective and quick. It’s a practical option when a full skip is more than you need, but you’ve still got more waste than your regular bin collection can handle.

Metal Recycling

We also provide a free, eco-friendly and 100% reliable licensed scrap metal collection service to residents across Cambridge and the surrounding area. If you’ve got old appliances, scrap metal or similar waste sitting around, we’ll collect it and make sure it’s recycled properly rather than heading to landfill, at no cost to you.

Committed to Recycling

All the waste we collect is disposed of at an authorised waste recycling facility, and we recycle over 95% of everything we take away. That matters to us because it means the vast majority of what we collect gets a second life rather than ending up buried, and it’s part of why we’re able to call ourselves a genuinely eco-friendly waste business rather than just claiming to be one.

What Our Customers Say

We’re proud of the reputation we’ve built locally, with a 100% recommend rating from our reviews on Facebook. Customers consistently come back to us for repeat jobs, whether that’s a regular trade customer needing a wait-and-load skip service or a homeowner needing a one-off clearance, and word of mouth is a big part of how our business has grown.

Areas We Cover

We’re based in Cambridge and offer a same day and next day service throughout Cambridge, Ely, Newmarket, Haverhill, Royston, St Ives and the surrounding areas. Wherever you’re based across that patch, we can usually get a skip, grab lorry or collection booked in quickly.
