A £2 million investment in our own Materials Recycling Facility at Reading Quarry tells you most of what you need to know about how we operate: we don’t just take waste away, we process it ourselves, on our own site, so that as much of it as possible gets a second life rather than heading to landfill.
We’re a specialist demolition, decontamination and recycling contractor with more than five decades of multi-disciplined project management and execution behind us, and we’ve stayed family owned and managed throughout. John Mould, our proprietor, was among the first in the industry to move away from makeshift methods, equipping his fleet with the best machinery available for contracts of every size and complexity, a standard we’ve held onto as the company has grown. Jay Mould now serves as General Manager, and Andy Webb leads our demolition division as Head of Demolition, backed by a team of highly experienced specialists offering in-house skills that are genuinely second to none.
We offer a full-service demolition, deconstruction and dismantling capability drawing on more than five decades of experience, bringing exceptional engineering expertise to ensure success at every stage of a project, whatever its scale or complexity.
Alongside our larger contracting work, we provide a wide range of skips to suit both domestic and commercial projects, focused on excellent service and competitive pricing while ensuring your waste is handled in full accordance with current legislation.
Recycled demolition waste is a valuable source of keenly priced construction materials that still maintain exceptionally high quality standards. We supply construction aggregates and topsoils across various grades, shipped directly to site from our Reading facility, suitable for a diverse range of applications from small domestic projects to major developments.
For 50 years, we’ve been involved in recycling materials from demolition and waste aggregates, and our Materials Recycling Facility lets us recycle everything tipped on-site in line with the reduce, reuse, recycle principle. As a registered waste carrier, we’re licensed to remove and transport hazardous waste to an appropriate disposal facility, and as a licensed asbestos contractor and experienced site-remediation specialist, we’re often contracted to remove contaminated waste from sites across the south of England and Wales. Our substantial fleet of roll-on roll-off bin lorries, articulated bulkers and 32-tonne tippers means we can bring the right vehicle to whatever a project actually needs.
Beyond our core demolition and waste services, we offer HIAB crane hire, high-quality low-loader hire for transporting heavy machinery and equipment, and a complete range of walking-floor transport and waste management services, all tailored to individual client requirements.
Our client relationships tend to run for years rather than single projects. Paul McCrorie, Head of Procurement at J Devine Civil Engineering, told us we’re very professional in our approach, offering good reliable service and quality recycled aggregates, calling us a can-do, will-do, excellent and trustworthy partner in their supply chain. Tom Hardy, Commercial Manager at CALA Homes (Thames), said we’ve consistently provided a reliable and professional service, carried out safely and to a very high standard. Mark Barrett, Chairman at Francis Construction, praised our willingness to tackle trickier projects, including removing part of an office building with the client still in occupation, and taking down a commercial greenhouse without breaking a single pane of glass.
Our accreditations are independently checkable rather than self-declared: we hold CHAS accreditation, Constructionline membership, a CSCS Platinum award, SMAS accreditation, FORS membership and DVSA Earned Recognition status. For contractors who need to verify a supply chain partner’s credentials before engaging us, that paperwork is genuinely in place.
Whether you need demolition, skip hire, recycled aggregates, hazardous waste removal, or specialist plant hire, get in touch with J Mould (Reading) at our Berrys Lane site in Burghfield. Contact us to order a skip , and our experienced team will talk you through exactly what your project needs.
From a single domestic skip to a major demolition contract for a house-building developer, the same site, the same fleet and the same fifty years of family experience sit behind every job we take on. It’s why so many of our commercial relationships have lasted for years rather than a single project, and it’s the standard we’d bring to your job too, whatever its scale.
