We opened Northern Renewable Centre in the old Ron Hill’s building on Redcar’s Esplanade — a shop that served the town for more than 50 years before it closed in 2020. Our founder Jamie, who built Rose Funerals into one of Teesside’s most established family businesses, wanted to do something different with renewables: give people an actual showroom to walk round, rather than a cold call or a pushy sales visit. Every product on the floor has a QR code with real information attached, so you can look into a solar panel, a battery, or a heat pump at your own pace before ever talking to anyone.

Solar PV Installation

We design and install solar PV systems for homes and businesses across Redcar and the surrounding area, sized around your actual roof and energy use. Customers regularly tell us the whole process — from the showroom visit through to installation — felt straightforward and pressure-free, which is exactly the point of how we’ve built the business.

Solar Battery Storage

For households that are out during the day, pairing solar panels with battery storage turns a good investment into a much better one — storing daytime generation for use in the evening rather than exporting most of it. We fit battery storage as part of new solar installations and as retrofits to systems already in place, including systems originally installed by other companies. We’ve also stepped in as a subcontractor to fix issues on installations where a customer’s original supplier had gone quiet — a heat pump or solar system with a real local business behind it, rather than a phone number that stops answering, matters more than people realise until they need it.

Our air source heat pump installations provide both heating and hot water, extracting energy from outside air even in freezing conditions at a fraction of the running cost of traditional heating. With the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant currently available, this is a good time for Redcar homeowners to make the switch — we handle the grant paperwork as part of the process.

EV Charger Installation

We’re OZEV-approved installers, fitting home EV chargers that range from compact wall-mounted units to more advanced charging stations, and pairing chargers with solar panels so customers can charge from their own generated electricity rather than the grid.

Our showroom and Eco Cafe on the Esplanade are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm — it’s one of the only places in the country where you can walk round and physically see the different renewable technologies side by side before deciding what’s right for your home.
