OB Skips & Recycling: Skip Hire, Clearance and Scrap Metal Recycling in Liverpool

“There’s no option for six stars,” one customer told us after Rebecca sorted a same-day collection of two old sofas. That’s the kind of response we’re aiming for on every job, not just the big ones — whether it’s a house full of rubbish or a couple of sofas somebody just wants gone.

Honest About Where We Come From

We won’t pretend the limited company is decades old, because it isn’t — OB Skips & Recycling Limited was set up in Old Swan in 2019. What is genuinely decades old is the family experience behind it: 80 years of handling scrap and waste properly, passed down and put into practice every day at our Old Swan and Bootle sites. We’d rather be upfront about that distinction than let a vague “years in business” claim do the talking for us.

Skip Sizes and Same-Day Delivery

We offer 2 ton skips for small domestic refurbishments and clear-outs, holding around 20 bin bags; 4 ton skips for bathroom rip-outs and larger clear-outs, holding around 40 bin bags; and 8 ton skips for builder rip-outs and general construction work, holding 70 to 80 bin bags. All our prices are shown inclusive of VAT, so there’s nothing extra waiting for you at checkout. Order before 1pm and we’ll do our best to get your skip delivered that same day.

More Than Skips

Skip hire is where most people find us, but it’s not all we do. We run a fully licensed waste transfer station at our Old Swan site, permitted by the Environment Agency, which lets us offer site clearance for overgrown gardens, fly-tipping and full commercial or industrial jobs, alongside scrap metal recycling for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including copper, aluminium, brass, lead and cable. We process material on site, comply fully with the Scrap Metal Dealers Act, and keep proper transaction records, so whatever you’re bringing us gets handled legally and traceably, not just taken off your hands.

No Brokers, No Passing You Around

We operate our own service in Liverpool rather than acting as a broker for someone else’s lorries and drivers. That means quicker turnarounds, clearer communication, and a team that actually understands local access, busy streets and real-world timelines, rather than a call centre reading from a script somewhere else in the country.

What Our Customers Say

We’re rated 5 out of 5 on Google from more than 85 reviews, and the same names keep coming up. One customer told us Gemma was professional and knowledgeable when booking, and Nikki was just as helpful arranging collection. Another, needing a skip at short notice, said it arrived first thing the next morning exactly as promised and was collected the same day it was ready, without any problems. A regular customer said they’d had several skips from Nicki and always found us on time with same-day delivery, adding they wouldn’t use another skip firm. One customer who hit a snag towards the end of their job praised the office team and Fred specifically for staying with her until it was sorted, saying she couldn’t thank them enough.

Where We Deliver

We cover Liverpool and the surrounding Merseyside area, including Aigburth, Allerton, Anfield, Belle Vale, Broadgreen, Canning, Childwall, Croxteth, Dingle, Dovecot, Edge Hill, Everton, Fairfield, Fazakerley, Garston, Gateacre, Kensington, Kirkdale, Knotty Ash, Mossley Hill, Netherley, Norris Green, Old Swan, Orrell Park, Speke, Stoneycroft, Toxteth, Tuebrook, Vauxhall, Walton, Wavertree, West Derby and Woolton, along with Crosby, Huyton, Kirkby, St Helens, Widnes, Runcorn, Skelmersdale and Birkenhead..

Not sure what size skip your job actually needs? Tell us what you’re clearing and we’ll recommend the right fit rather than the size that suits us. Getting it right first time matters — an overfilled skip can’t be collected safely, and sizing up before you start is almost always cheaper than paying for a second one later.
