Solar Panel Installers Northwich | Get Quotes & Installation Information
- Northwich, Cheshire, England
I started my first solar business, South Downs Solar, back in 2014, helping people access government grants for solar and sell electricity back to the grid. My business partner and I wound that down in 2018 to pursue other ventures, though we kept maintaining many of the systems we’d installed. I stayed close to the industry — I co-founded the Brighton Eco Technology Show, a renewable energy summit — and in 2022 I started Savent Solar to properly get back into it. Sarah-Jane and Pete, who’d both worked with me at South Downs Solar, came on board too, and between us we’ve now installed and help maintain over 1,000 solar systems across Sussex.
We’re MCS certified, NAPIT certified, RECC accredited, and SolarEdge Authorised. We’re also an Octopus Energy Trusted Partner, which means our customers get access to Octopus’s export tariffs — Outgoing Octopus, Flux and Agile — consistently among the best Smart Export Guarantee rates in the UK.
We design bespoke solar PV systems for homes and businesses across Storrington, Worthing, Chichester, Horsham, Crawley, Brighton, Haywards Heath and the wider South East. Sussex gets notably more sunshine than the UK average, which makes it one of the more financially productive regions in the country for solar. As a SolarEdge Authorised Installer, we fit DC optimiser systems that get proper generation out of roofs with partial shading or mixed orientation — something a lot of installers won’t attempt. We take on properties other companies have turned down.
Storrington sits on the edge of the South Downs National Park, and planning rules here aren’t always straightforward — conservation area installations are usually permitted development, but listed buildings need Listed Building Consent first. We’ve been installing across the RH20 postcode for years, so we can tell you where you stand on planning before you’ve spent anything on a survey. Bird protection goes on as standard on every new system we fit, because pigeons nesting under panels is a genuine, common problem that degrades performance and damages wiring over time — one customer recently had us retrofit pigeon proofing to an older system, and everyone involved, from Sarah-Jane in the office through to the installers and scaffolders, was part of getting that sorted properly.
We service, clean, repair and monitor existing solar systems across West Sussex regardless of who originally installed them. A fair amount of our work now comes from customers with older or underperforming systems that need a proper diagnosis rather than a guess.
We install off-grid solar systems for beach huts, garden offices, stables, mobile homes and other remote properties needing independent power, alongside commercial installations designed around a business’s actual energy consumption for maximum self-use and export revenue.
Every system we install gets a genuine six-month check-in call to confirm performance — not an automated email, an actual conversation. It’s a small thing, but it’s the kind of aftercare a lot of national installers and newer local competitors simply don’t offer, and it’s part of why customers keep coming back to us for their next project, including one who’s currently working with us to integrate a wind turbine into their existing solar and battery setup.
If you’re in Storrington, West Sussex, or the wider South East and thinking about solar, get in touch for a free, no-obligation site survey. I’d rather give you an honest assessment — including telling you if solar isn’t a great fit for your roof — than a quick sale.
