Winwick Road Skip Hire Warrington | Cheshire Skip Hire

Templewood Estate in West Hanningfield has been home to SB Skip Hire for more than 25 years, and it’s where we run our own fully licensed waste transfer station rather than simply passing your waste on to somebody else. That’s the difference between us and a lot of smaller skip firms: we’re part of the PJ Group of Companies, built up under the guidance of founder and chairman Paul Jeremy and Managing Director Tim Buttling, with the infrastructure to back up what we promise.
Skips are where most people know us from, and we keep a complete range on hand, from small 2-yard skips for a single-room clearout up to the larger sizes a full renovation or construction job needs. But skips aren’t the whole story. We also run grab hire, wait and load, daily bag collection, tipper hire and roll-on roll-off containers, so a contractor managing a big commercial site and a homeowner clearing out a garage can both come to the same place. Wait and load is worth knowing about if space is tight or you can’t leave a skip sitting on site for days at a time, and daily bag collection gives smaller jobs a cheaper, more flexible alternative to booking a full skip. Not sure what size or service fits your job? Give the team a call and we’ll talk it through before you commit to anything.
Most of what sets us apart happens after the skip leaves your driveway. At our licensed transfer station on the Templewood industrial estate, materials are segregated using both hand-picking and mechanical means, and our processes are reviewed constantly to stay compliant with current legislation. There are more regulations than most people realise around what can and can’t be recycled, and around how the rest has to be disposed of correctly. Handling that properly, so you don’t have to think about it, is a large part of what we actually do — and running our own facility, rather than relying entirely on third parties, means we can stand behind that process from start to finish.
We work alongside Chelmsford City Council and other local authorities as an approved contractor, which is part of why our client list runs from councils and developers to contractors and everyday homeowners. Being trusted at that level isn’t something we take lightly, and it shapes how we run every side of the business, not just the council contracts.
Over the years we’ve built a genuinely broad client base: local authorities who need a reliable, compliant contractor for public waste contracts; developers and construction firms managing large-scale sites; smaller contractors who need a skip booked quickly and reliably between jobs; and homeowners tackling anything from a garden clear-out to a full house renovation. Serving that range well means we can’t cut corners anywhere — a council contract and a next-door neighbour’s driveway skip both get held to the same standard.
We hold a 4.8 out of 5 rating on Facebook, built up over years of local jobs. One customer told us our staff and drivers were excellent and extremely helpful, and said she’d be using us again within a couple of weeks. Another praised a fast, efficient service with a helpful driver. A landscaper who books us for every job said our skips suit the trade perfectly and rated us 10 out of 10, and another customer simply called us a great company, well organised, with great prices.
Chelmsford is home, and we serve the surrounding area including Stock, Writtle and the wider Essex region, working closely with Chelmsford City Council throughout.
We’re open Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm, and Saturday, 8am to 2pm. You’ll also find us on Instagram if you’d like a look at recent jobs before you book.
Twenty-five years, a licensed transfer station, and a working relationship with the local council aren’t things we can claim overnight — they’re what happens when a family business sticks around long enough to keep earning them, job after job.
