SFL Tiling: Over 30 Years of Residential and Commercial Tiling in Southampton

Few tiling businesses can say they’ve worked on both a family bathroom and a national supermarket chain using exactly the same standard of care — but that’s the range SFL Tiling has built up over more than three decades in the trade. Based in Totton, Southampton, SFL Tiling has been operating in the commercial tiling sector since 1989, and today offers homeowners, landlords, and businesses across Hampshire a genuinely rare combination: deep residential expertise alongside serious, large-scale commercial experience.

Whether it’s a single bathroom retile, a full kitchen renovation, or a large commercial fit-out that needs to be completed with minimal disruption to a working business, SFL Tiling brings over 30 years of hands-on experience and a reputation built substantially on repeat customers and referrals.

About SFL Tiling

SFL Tiling is a friendly, professionally run tiling business based in Totton, Southampton, with more than 30 years of experience in interior and exterior wall and floor tiling. The company undertakes both domestic and commercial projects, from tiling a single kitchen or bathroom through to fitting out independent shops and large supermarkets — genuinely rare versatility for a business of this size.

Every project is carefully planned and completed using premium brand tiling products, with the goal of a lasting finish rather than a quick cosmetic job. That approach has paid off in the form of an extensive list of satisfied customers and a business that now relies heavily on repeat work and referrals — a strong sign that the quality and service on offer holds up well beyond the initial sale.

A National-Level Commercial Track Record

SFL Tiling’s own description of its history is striking: the business has carried out tiling work nationwide for nearly 30 years, ranging from large superstores through to small domestic splashbacks, and has even completed projects for well-known public figures. That range of experience — from major national retail contracts to individual homes — gives SFL Tiling a level of commercial credibility that few smaller, purely residential tilers in the Southampton area can match.

Operating in the commercial sector since 1989, SFL Tiling works closely with both local and national companies, and is set up to handle genuinely time-sensitive projects. The team can work day or night, weekdays or weekends, including out of normal working hours where necessary, to keep commercial clients’ projects on schedule and within budget while minimising disruption to their business.

Residential Tiling Services

For homeowners, landlords, and property developers, SFL Tiling provides high-quality interior and exterior tiling covering splashbacks, full floors, and entire kitchen and bathroom renovations. The team is fully qualified and experienced across a wide range of tile types and applications, and is quick to point out that tiling isn’t limited to kitchens and bathrooms any more — tiles are now a versatile, durable, low-maintenance option for practically any room in the house, inside or out.

Residential services include:

• Floor and wall tiling
• Splashbacks

Commercial Tiling Services

On the commercial side, SFL Tiling offers a comprehensive service for businesses across Hampshire, including:

Whether it’s a few damaged tiles that need replacing or an entire retail unit that needs tiling from scratch, SFL Tiling’s commercial team has the experience and flexibility to renovate a workplace with minimal disruption to day-to-day operations.

Specialist Epoxy Grouting

One of SFL Tiling’s more specialist offerings is epoxy grouting, a particularly durable and hygienic grouting option used mainly in high-risk environments such as hospitals, commercial kitchens, and communal showers. It’s a technical, specialist area of the trade that not every tiler offers, and it reflects the depth of experience SFL Tiling has built up across genuinely demanding commercial and institutional settings over the years.

Materials

SFL Tiling is highly skilled and experienced working with a wide range of tile types, including:

• Ceramic — a versatile, everyday choice for kitchens and bathrooms
• Porcelain — durable and low maintenance, suited to high-traffic areas
• Limestone — a soft, natural-toned option for a timeless finish
• Glass — for a striking, contemporary look
• Marble — a premium, elegant choice for statement floors and walls
• Mosaic — ideal for feature areas and intricate detailing
• Granite — exceptionally hard-wearing and suited to demanding environments

What Customers Say

SFL Tiling’s Checkatrade reviews consistently highlight the same qualities in the team’s work. One customer, describing a sun lounge floor tiled by Rory, praised a brilliant, professional job with excellent attention to detail, noting they’d be the first call for any future tiling work. Another customer, who had a bathroom tiled, described Rory as helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly, even assisting with a tricky tiling problem they hadn’t known how to resolve themselves. A third customer, whose kitchen floor was re-tiled, described the workmanship as highly rated, with the job carried out neatly and tidily throughout — enough that they felt entirely comfortable leaving the tiler to get on with the work unsupervised.
