Whitty’s Lofts: Liverpool’s Personally-Led Loft Conversion Specialist

There’s a particular kind of confidence that comes from a builder who’s happy to wait until a job is half done before asking for payment. That’s exactly the approach Whitty’s Lofts, run by Steve Whittingham from Newdown Road in Liverpool, takes with customers — a genuinely low-pressure way of proving the work speaks for itself before any significant money changes hands.

Whether it’s a full loft conversion complete with electrics, plumbing, and heating, or a straightforward loft insulation and boarding job, Whitty’s Lofts offers Liverpool homeowners a complete, personally managed service from a builder customers consistently describe wanting to use again.

About Whitty’s Lofts — Meet Steve

Whitty’s Lofts is run by Steve Whittingham, providing a complete loft conversion service from initial design through to completion, including the installation of electrics, plumbing, and heating. The business is built around a simple pitch: rather than facing the enormous cost and upheaval of moving house, a loft conversion can give a growing family the extra space they need within their existing home.

Customers who’ve used Whitty’s Lofts describe Steve and his team as genuinely easy to have in the house, striking the right balance between getting on with hard physical work and being personable enough that the whole experience doesn’t feel like the stressful ordeal building work often becomes. One reviewer specifically mentioned their children being sad the job was finishing, having enjoyed the team’s company throughout.

Services

Loft Conversions

Whitty’s Lofts manages loft conversions from the earliest design stage right through to completion, including converting spare rooms into offices or extra bedrooms based on exactly what a customer needs, with any additional requests happily accommodated as part of the project.

Design and Planning, Structural Calculations

Before any building work begins, Whitty’s Lofts handles the design and planning side of a conversion, along with the structural calculations needed to make sure a project is genuinely viable and safe before construction starts.

Bathrooms, Electrics, Plumbing, and Heating

As a complete service, Whitty’s Lofts covers bathrooms, electrics, plumbing, and heating as standard, meaning a loft conversion arrives fully finished and ready to use, rather than needing several additional tradespeople brought in afterwards to complete the job.

What Customers Say

Whitty’s Lofts has a smaller number of published reviews than some larger companies, but the detail within them speaks clearly to the quality of the work and the experience of dealing with Steve directly. One customer described having Steve and his team in their home on two separate occasions — first for a full loft conversion completed exactly to their vision, with the family consulted throughout and any extra requests, including converting a small bedroom into an office, happily accommodated. The same customer had a second job carried out afterwards and confirmed that from the very first visit, they knew they wanted Whitty’s Lofts to do the work, adding that payment wasn’t required until the job was already half completed. Another customer described a loft insulation and boarding job on a loft left in poor condition by the previous owners, praising a professional, polite, and clean team who worked continuously from the moment they arrived.
